TAp App Redesign

What is the TAP App?

The TAP app is a free app to help navigate through the LA Metro and bus system. This app allows users to navigate and pay for transit, while accepted on 27+ transit systems in the greater Los Angeles area.

Why the TAP App?

My passion for public transportation, cultivated during my years in Arlington, Virginia, where I had the privilege of experiencing the seamless interconnectedness of the DMV’s exemplary transit system—arguably the finest in the nation—has inspired this redesign. The TAP App, though functional, deserves a fresh infusion of care and attention, and I am committed to delivering just that through this project.

Three Fun Facts About LA Metro

  1. The LA Metro is home to one of the largest public art programs in the U.S. The program is designed to make the transit experience more enjoyable and to reflect the diverse culture of Los Angeles.

  2. There's an abandoned “ghost” station underneath the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. It was originally built in the 1920s for a subway that never materialized. This station is not used, but a hidden piece of LA’s transit history.

  3. The 7th Street/Metro Center station has been featured in the movie "Collateral" and the TV show "Alias." The futuristic design of some of these stations makes them popular choices for sci-fi and action scenes.
